
Brown Trout Fishing
Brown trout originated in Europe, and were introduced to the United States in 1882. Brownies are a hardy fish, able to survive and thrive in waters that are up to ten degrees warmer than most trout can tolerate. Mature brown trout can grow up to 36 inches long, and can commonly weigh more than 20 pounds. The largest brown trout on record weighed close to forty pounds and was caught in Arkansas in 1992. The large adults make brown trout fishing one of the more challenging and potentially rewarding fishing experiences available to anglers.
